About Department
Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Sillod was established in June 1972. During 1993 the institutions has taken up the steps for opening the faculty of Science, at the same time the Department of Chemistry was established in the year 1993,Commencement of UG course in the subject in the same year. The first Science batch pass out in 1996. The post graduate education in Organic Chemistry started from June 2013.The first PG batch pass out in 2015. Mr. D. B. Wanekar working as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department Since 21th November 1994.

The Department of Chemistry having full-fledged 02 Organic lab, 01 Inorganic lab, 01 Physical chemistry lab, 01 store room and 01 staff room. Laboratory consists instruments like Spectrophotometer, Rotavapor, Polarimeter, Colorimeter, Conductometer, Oven, Ice Maker etc. The Department of Chemistry also run six months the certificate course to enhances knowledge of students about synthesis of organic compound. Our Department of Chemistry students are doing research in Chemistry in India and aboard. Many students working as Assistant Professor in Chemistry in Various Colleges. The Department of Chemistry organized Seminars, guest lectures, Quiz Competition for UG. and PG. students. Department of Chemistry having Departmental library.
