Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Sillod was established by the visionary leader late Shri. Dadasaheb Palodkar in 1972.It is premier academic institution and the senior most college in the tehsil. It is located in 16 acre of absolutely serene and sprawling campus catering the needs of the needy, neglected, poor and deprived students of the rural areas. Its journey of 42 long years is the journey of big tests and trials.
The college provides instruction in various under graduate courses in Arts, Commerce and Science faculties. Apart from this it also runs courses in B. Sc. Biotechnology, Various Post Graduate Courses in M.Sc.(Chemistry), (Computer Science),(Mathematics) and (Botany) ,M. Com, M. A.(English),(History),(Political Science),(Economics),and (Hindi).The College has full-fledged Junior College.
Our teaching as well as non-teaching staff is kindly involved in the study growth of college. We have more than 3500 students registered for various courses. The total staff includes 29 teachers in Senior College, 26 in Junior College and 33 Non-Teaching employees. We have having 19 departments in our College. It is affiliated to Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad.
We have introduced B.Sc. (Computer Science), Dramatics and Dry Land Agriculture as self financing courses.
Apart from this we also provide research facilities in various subjects like Political Science, Marathi, Economics, Physics and Zoology.
The College Provides higher education in rural parts of the neighboring tehsils of the district. It has left its marked existence in the educational, Social and cultural life of surrounding areas by its active participation in nation building activities. The main concern of college management is pursuit of academic advancement in process of growth and development of the college.
